Cardiology

One-stop comprehensive service to patients with heart problems

Provide integrated and complete cardiovascular care

Provides a broad range of services in the diagnosis and management of heart diseases

Overview

United CIIGMA Hospital, the first and only NABH accredited hospital in Marathwada has again taken the first initiative to start an Electrophysiology unit in the whole region.

Electrophysiology is a subspecialty of Cardiology which deals with the disorders of heart rhythm. Till date, such patients from our region had to travel all the way to Mumbai for their treatment. United CIIGMA team realised this need and decided to launch a full-fledged Electrophysiology unit. UCH procured the latest and advanced Workmate Claris GP lab from St. Jude, USA. The unit has been installed and successfully treated initial few patients suffering from heart rhythm disorders.

EP study will help in the diagnosis and management of following disorders-

  • Supraventricular tachycardia
  • Atrial flutter
  • Atrial fibrillation
  • Ventricular tachycordia
  • Recurrent syncope

What We Do

  • The Department of Cardiology, United Ciigma Hospital provides a one-stop comprehensive service to patients with heart problems. Our experienced team works closely to provide integrated and complete cardiovascular care for our patients.
  • The Department of Cardiology provides a broad range of services in the diagnosis and management of heart diseases. The department comprises a strong team of doctors with expertise in various cardiac subspecialties to treat all types of heart diseases.
  • Decision in the meeting of authorization committee within 24 hours for grant permission or rejection of transplant.
  • Update total transplant in the hospital with each details of transplantation.

About Cardiology

  • Cardiology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the heart as well as parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology. Physicians who specialize in this field of medicine are called cardiologists, a specialty of internal medicine. Pediatric cardiologists are pediatricians who specialize in cardiology. Physicians who specialize in cardiac surgery are called cardiothoracic surgeons or cardiac surgeons, a specialty of general surgery.
  • Although the cardiovascular system is inextricably linked to blood, cardiology is relatively unconcerned with hematology and its diseases. Some obvious exceptions that affect the function of the heart would be blood tests (electrolyte disturbances, troponins), decreased oxygen carrying capacity (anemia, hypovolemic shock), and coagulopathies.

Our Cardiology Department

  • Our team of doctors, nurses, technicians and other heart experts ensure excellence in patient care. Since its inception, more than 6,000 patients have undergone cardiac procedures in UCH in last 3 years ranging from Coronary Angiographies to Complex Coronary Angioplasties and from Balloon Mitral Valvotomy to Pacemaker & ICD implantations.
  • We have well equipped state of the art cardiac catheterization laboratory. In our pursuit of excellence, we have been constantly upgrading our facilities.
